Pedro Pío
He was born in Granada (Spain). He is graduated in Documentary Direction on the International Film School of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. There he directed several films among which stand out “MAYA” (nominated for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival (France) and “DOGS” (premiered at DocumentaMadrid (Spain), Official Selection of Interfilm Berlin and selected by cottbus (East Germany) for the sample FOCUS CUBA, as part of the tribute to the 30 years of the Cuban Film School (EICTV)
In Colombia he directed “The Girl of the Bus” film selected by the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival (France), received the awards for Best Picture, Best Director and Best actress in Bogota Short Film Festival (Colombia), won as Best filmtheMartil Film Festival (Morocco) and was Official Selection of theMalaga Film Festival (Spain) and the Huesca Film Festival (Spain).
Also in Colombia he directed JAURÍA, film released in Clermont-Ferrand (France), festival recognized for being the most influential in the world in short films.
Currently is a collaborator for the UN as Documentalist, Editor and Photographer. In Advertising he has worked as Director's assistant at Lamuvi Films, one of the most important advertising production companies in Colombia.
He is founder of Atomic, a photographic studio and video production company dedicated especially to the Food Photography and organization of Film Workshops and Photography.

MAYA
Maya is a film that uses the mechanisms of documentary and fiction to tell the relationship between a fighting dog and her trainer. The film focuses on the three days leading up to a life and death fight.
Nominated for the Palme d'Or at the 63rd Cannes Film Festival and Official Selection at the 40th Rotterdam Film Festival.

DOGS
"DOGS" follows the lives of five dogs, from the simplest things like what they eat or where they sleep, to discovering the obsessions of each master materialized in their pet. Through a dog you can know a master; through several dogs we can get to know a social group. Each of the stories have common points: going for a walk, preparing food, home, which in turn become, throughout the film, the things that differentiate each character. These differences allow us to reflect on a society like the Cuban one that, although theoretically it does not assume it, is stratified.

THE GIRL ON THE BUSETA (2016) TRAILER
"La Niña de la Buseta" is a film that shows a few days in the life of a young woman who sells sweets in buses to survive with her baby. The harshness of the environment that surrounds him brings his most primal instincts to the surface.
This film is the result of the need to film real people (not actors) and mix them with fiction, to bring their stories to the screen and thus give them a voice.
PIG LIFE (2011) TRAILER
Cerda Vida introduces us to the skin of a pig that is going to be killed by a man and helped by a mule.
History makes us witnesses of the triangle pig - man - mule, making us participants in a fable that highlights the cruelty of the human being in the face of the ironic humanization of animals.
It is a documentary story created from a staging.
WE ALL NEED TO BE FREE (2009)
3-minute mini-documentary that offers a personal vision, in the form of a metaphor, of the current Cuban situation, told through Lázaro's voice-over while he explains the behavior of the pigeons he breeds.
A DRUMMER (2012)
"Una Baterista" takes us into Nailé's most personal space, her room. We observe her, in a direct and impartial way, doing the things that make her a person like any other.
